Hi, I’m Jake! Welcome to my blog!
I’m writing to engage with, exhort, and inform Christians and those curious about God. Whether it’s current events, theology, social issues, apologetics, religion, life, culture, etc., I hope to portray a perspective in my writing that is both fair and rooted in the truth of God’s Word.
I currently serve in youth ministry at a wonderful church in Virginia with my amazing wife. I did not grow up as a Christian or attending a church. Before my conversion, my life was full of brokenness, pain, and sin. But, by God’s grace, I was able to see the light in the darkness, the hope of Jesus Christ. It has truly been a wonderful, challenging, and enlightening journey of transformation as I have sought to live out my new life in Christ. I am certainly not perfect, but am privileged to be counted righteous before God only because of Christ’s loving sacrifice. Jesus is my joy, strength, peace, and life. As for my life now, I echo the words of the Apostle Paul:
“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” – (Galatians 2:20, ESV)
I enjoy relaxing with a cup of coffee (black of course!) and a good book. Movies are great too, so long as they are worth watching. Some of my favorites include Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings, and Braveheart. I also enjoy being out in nature and exploring new things with my family and friends!
I received a B.S. in Church Ministries with a specialization in Youth Ministry from Liberty University and I am currently pursuing an M.Div. in Christian Thought through Liberty’s Rawlings School of Divinity.
